☀️ How’s the Weather at Disneyland? 🥰
This is a question that gets asked almost hourly in Disney groups, and as a SoCal born and raised native, I am now calling our weather: “The SoCal Surprise” and here’s why:
Trust me when I say that a TRUE SoCal native will answer the above question with an “I don’t know.” We are typically prepared with layers. Right now, we’re in June Gloom. “Cold” to most of us is 68 degrees and lower. “Hot” is anything between 69-73. Humidity is rare. We have surprise rain monthly. YES, we’re spoiled, YES we pay something called the “Sunshine Tax!”
That being said, depending on what city you’re coming from, our hot may not be hot, and our cold may not be cold to you! In November-January, for example, you know who all the locals are if they’re bundled up with hoodies and jackets and beanies and can tell the PNW folks (for example) are in shorts and tank tops. 🤣 Floridians laugh at our summer heat, and I’ve been at Disney World for my birthday in August (never again)!
So my best advice as a SoCal local: Bring layers! The worst case scenario is actually a best case scenario: you can go shopping in one of the beautiful Main Street shops for some amazing Disneyland merch and everyone‘s happy!
Moral of the Story: Just wish for our amazing SoCal weather, which is pretty much perfect 90% of the time, and 10% of the time, we truly have no idea! ☺️
Don’t forget to Whistle While You Plan!
